Connecticut duo will draw looks
Connecicut is a traditional Syracuse recruiting stomping grounds and two of the
more productive players in the state this year are quarterback/athlete Charles
Spencer and linebacker Kory Kevorkian.
The list of Orangemen from Connecticut is a long one, with some of the most recent
standouts being Donald Dinkins, Kyle & Ian McIntosh, Tebucky Jones & Dwight Freeney.
Two
of the better players in Conn. this year are W. Hartford
standout Charles Spencer and linebacker Kory Kevorkian from Berlin.
Neither
are currently at the top of Syracuse's wish list, but Spencer has named
the Orange as one of his four favorite teams and has indicated he might camp
there. Other teams recruiting Spencer--who is a terrific athlete at 6'2,
215 and with a legit 4.72 in the 40 yard dash--include Kentucky, Sienna & Iona.
He will camp at Rutgers & Hofstra this summer and don't be surprised if he earns
a scholarship offer from both schools this summer. He has a 900 SAT score,
but will be re-taking it in June & November. His GPA is at 2.2.
Kevorkian
has the style of play and aggressiveness to play at the Division
1 level, but his 4.98 speed in the 40 might force him to UConn, Maine or William
& Mary, all who are currently recruiting him Kory looks like a full qualifier
with a B-average and 970 SAT.
